Heat wave in Europe

What are you doing to stay cool, in Europe?

It's so hot that women in bikinis are sunbathing in Moscow.

A heat wave across much of Europe is also causing crops to wither, forest fires to ignite and roads to melt, while refrigerators and fans are buckling in the searing sun....

Raining!

It is doing it here(Germany) too. It has cooled off a bit, but is by no means cold. It is as if nature is preparing me for the South East Asian monsoons, which I will be experiencing next month. Reply to this

It's 35 degrees in Kyiv... I don't really have a tactic for keeping cool, luckily my office is air conditioned!

The U.S. is having an extremely hot summer as well - hottest summer I can remember in years. It's strange considering we had a very cold and rough winter. Hopefully Rome isn't scorching hot during September because that's where I'll be in a month. I don't really have high hopes though considering Rome is ALWAYS hot in the summer. There's a saying: "Roma in Agosto e' un brutto posto" (Rome is August is an ugly place). The quote refers to the heat as well as the fact that everyone clears out in August for the coast. Fortunately, everyone will be back in September so it will be lively again. Unfortunately, the heat will probably carry over into most of September where I will be without air conditioning! This heat wave seems to have affected Eastern Europe in particular. Reply to this
