Getting a Chinese Visa in the USA

Use a company? Or do it yourself?

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone had some advice about how to go about getting a China Visa in the USA. There's not really a Chinese Consulate near me so doing it myself isn't really an option. I am thinking about using one of the internet companies that can get the visa for you. But, sending my passport to someone in the mail seems sort of sketch.

Has anyone used these companies before successfully? Is this how it is usually done? I guess if all else fails I can make a road trip to a city to get it myself but this is my last resort. I would like some advice please!!

Thanks! Reply to this

Unfortunately, if you don't have a friend in the right city, you will probably have to either use one of the services or take the road trip. Very annoying part of traveling to China. My sister and I ended up getting our Chinese visas in Mongolia at the Embassy there - some countries bordering China will process visa applications for anyone. Reply to this
