Ok so we thought we just put in a random blog.

We´re in lima at the moment, but its a bit strange as pretty much everyone from our group has already gone, we´re here with just one other girl, but we fly to Chile later on tonight. Seems weird as we keep looking at our watchs!! Seems weird not being in a group of 11, but its nicer being able to go into a restuarant and not to have to re-arrange the whole place to fit us in!!

The past few days we´ve been thinking about home and what we´re looking forward to as quite a few of the group have been going home.

Obviously we´re looking forward to seeing everyone again at home!
but we´re also looking forward to (not in order!)

marmite on toast
proper brown bread
peanut butter
not having at least two carbs at every meal
salad which isn´t cold cooked veg
not wondering what else is sharing the shower with you
knowing the shower wont cut out half way through
knowing the shower will be hot and not either burn or freeze you in the next second
not having to wear flip flops in the shower to avoid electric shocks
not having to put toilet paper in the bin next to the loo (cant flush it here!!)
not having to always carry toilet paper everywhere!
our own beds!!
understanding every word on the menu (although some of the translations they have are really funny, they sometimes use literal translations which make no sense! ie to the iron which is actually grilled)
mobile phones actually working
having more than just four outfits to chose from
clothes actually coming back clean from the laundry
knowing that all our clothes will be there (have lost or had other peoples included with ours)
having something other than hiking boots or trainers
not having to pack up all our stuff everyday or every other day
not constantly being scared of losing our passport
not being bugged by kids and adults who want money
being able to understand what random people are saying to you
a bath
hairdryer/ straighteners
not being expected to tip everyone
a sink/washbasin with both a hot and cold tap

We are also looking forward to things changing when we´re travelling not in a tour group
strangly we´re really looking forward to not have to go out for a meal, and being able to cook in the hostels. Its really tiring having to go out for two or sometimes three meals a day! We also are looking forward to staying in one place for a while, not moving round, or just having more say in when and where we are going!!!

However we´re having an amazing time
we´re not looking forward to

having to go back to work
having to think about what we´re spending (not really thinking bout it here which is prob a bit wrong!)
being in England (everything is so relaxed over here and far cheaper)
not having an endless supply of American re runs on tv (in places where the tv actually worked!!)
not being in a big group (we´re going to miss everyone we´ve been travelling with)
goin to miss the gereral friendlyness of other travellers - have had lots of random conversations with strangers

We´ve prob missed a load of things out that we´ve thought about but this is just what we´re thinking bout now!
Its only three weeks we´ve got left now before we fly back to the Uk, we hope by then all the stuff about transatlantic flights will have been sorted out! We have a week and a half in Chile followed by a week and a half in Argentina where we´re goin to eat so much steak!!!!

hey u 2 i thought id leave a comment for u. it sounds like that u have had the time of ur life out there and that u enjoy the rest of ur time out there. u mite have bin told but libby wilson has left. just thought id let u know a bit about the wonderful world of asda. also jillian has left today (saturday 26th aug) was real sad to see her go. so her is to u both GOOD LUCK and have fun. will see u both very soon.
