2nd and last day in Peru! That was a quick trip!

Puno in itself is not really worth the stop but it's the perfect starting point for an excursion on the famous lake. I took one for the day and went first to the weird floating islands of Uros. Many tourists there of course, that's why some Peruvians stayed there actually... They get paid by local agencies and can sell some handicrafts and postcards. A fascinating way of life but a bit too much touristy.

We spent the rest of the day on the island of Taquile, a jewel of nature lost in the middle of the Lake. We had lunch there in a "traditional" Peruvian family and went back to Puna before the sunset.

Everyone needs to sit down and listens to the history of these islands!Everyone needs to sit down and listens to the history of these islands!

How we learnt how these islands were actually made and how these people could live on them without any fear of drowing during the night
