Dec 20 - Puira - Having a look around

- So we made it from our 11 hour bus ride overnight across the Peru border and down off the Andes Mountains to Puira. Before I say anything else, may I just comment on the funniest story ever......

ALICE NEWDICK HALF ASLEEP GETTING OFF BUS TO CROSS BORDER INTO PERU, WANDERS THROUGH SEMI DARKNESS TO GET PASSPORT STAMPED. EYEPATCH STILL IN CHECK ON FOREHEAD SHE MAKES A BEELINE FOR THE HUT. DANI AND MYSELF ARE WALKING SLIGHTLY AHEAD AND MAKE IT SAFELY THE CHECKING AREA PHEW THAT WAS RISKY?????? 30 SECONDS PASS, AS WE MADLY FILL IN THE RELEVANT DOCUMENTS. HANG ON A MINUTE, NO SIGN OF ALICE????? OH HERE SHE COMES,,,,,, CRYING,,,,,, MUDDY,,,,, MUTTERING JUST LOUDER THAN A WHISPER,,,,,,, I FELL DOWN A DITCH.......!!!

After checking she was ok - obviously.....

FUNNIEST THING EVER - THE DITCH WAS A 3 FOOT x 3 FOOT CEMENT DRAIN --AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

EVEN THE GAURDS WERE LAUGHING - ALICE COVERED IN MUD SLINKS BACK TO HER DIRTY AND MUDDY DREAMS WHILE WE CONTINUE OUR JOURNEY INTO THE LANDS OF PERU - DANI MAY I HAVE A TISSUE AS I AM CRYING FROM LAUGHTER... GOOD ON YOU ALICE.

- Puira - not too much to say San Hose Hostel is run by really nice people and worth it if looking for a break. Puira is ok not too much to look at better off going to Mancora from here (2 hours approx by bus)
