(N) The 11 hour flight wasn´t too bad and, in very non-British style, passengers were already fumbling for their bags in the overhead lockers before the plane had stopped moving, despite pleas to the contrary from the steward! In the arrivals hall, a driver had written "NJ Rowlands" in marker pen on a scrap of paper, and duly brought us to Inka Lodge (if you like pan pipes: http://www.inkalodge.com).

The journey from the airport was mostly along a wide dual carriageway with neon signs everywhere; the guidebook says that Peru along with most of Latin America is pursuing a left-leaning, antagonistic approach to the USA, but it seems that the ordinary peruano still aspires to the American way, if the abundance of KFC, McD etc is anything to go by. (Although the local fast food chain was also competing, under the name of Norky´s!).

Delighted to see that Liverpool knocked out the boys in blue earlier this evening!
