sorry i didnt get a chance to update last night. we went salsa dancing. well we bought a lesson. it was fun...hard though. watch out, one more of those classes and ill be on dancing with the stars! jk. on the 4th, we had a long long long day....we walked and walked and walked. yesterday we took a bus to the city center and we ate lunch at the famous hotel bolivar. it is like the breakers of lima. we saw miss peru of 2005 or 2004 dont really remember. then we walked through the ghetto and we took a tour through the old san marcos college. it was very pretty. it was used for munks to study and it is the oldest university in both south and north america. then we went to the city square and we were going to go into the church but it was closing. after, we went salsa dancing. yesterday i was totally wiped out. we didnt celebrate the 4th but the sun did come out!!! the first time all week. the sun never comes out because lima is located between a mountain and the coast and the coastal fog is blocked by the mountains so it stays on top of lima during the winter! yesterday was a good break from the depressing clouds. oh and i got bite by a dog...but im okĀ°!!!

today, we went to school in the am and the took a bus to lima central again. we visited the catacombs where 6400 people are buried underneath the cathedral (benefactors of the cathedral...they were not murdered or anything). it was absolutely amazing. we werent aloud to take pictures but i bought postcards! we walked through the actual burial tombs with all the bones in the tombs! it was cool...very smelly though. after we went to the capitol building and we took another tour. we walked underneath the building through a small passageway to see the old jail cells. it was neat but very closed in. after me regina and tara took a bus ride back home (we were suppose to take a taxi but we didnt not my idea) we were going the wrong way into the major dangerous ghetto. we were sitting next to a man with 3 boxes of baby chickens. he was selling them for 5 soles. i wanted one but where were we going to put it? finally we realized we were on the wrong bus and we got off...this was a really really bad part of town. my friends told me to cover my head because i make it too obvious that we arent from their because of my hair. finally we got home. i got home and read and ate and then my mama french braided our hair!!! shes such a sweetie. if you check out the link below, their are pictures of all of my group and of my mama clara! more are soon to come. im going to go to bed...i am soooo exhausted

dog bites should be taken seriously
If the dog bite broke the skin you should seriously A. try and find that dog if it's possible to monitor to see if it has rabies. B. if that's not possible and skin was broken you should get rabies shots. Rabies is no joke. And once you know you have it, well, then it's fatal 100% of the time.
