I was starting a journey, almost alone. I when to Peru, with my sister and other 20 students to represent Mexico in folkloric dance. I felt weird, anxious. It was my first trip, I was thirteen years old and I was a bit worried. I woke up at 5 am just to get school at 6. I said goodbye to my family and get on the bus, headed to Mexico. At the airport we ate and bought souvenirs, we got on the airplane and I felt asleep.
I was at the airplane, so when we arrived I felt my ears were going to explode, I took some tea and I felt better. We passed throughout the airport and left at 1am. I heard the sound of the night, and thought about Mexico, I missed it. We arrived to a military camp and stayed there. I took a shower and ate something. I fall asleep, and next morning I went with the others to have breakfast.
We got on the bus and headed to the city. I asked for a cold beverage, it tasted like glory, it was called Inca Kola. When we reached
the beach, we play a little, and then went to a mall. There I bought two jackets and a coffee. At the end of the day I tasted one of the greatest pizza I've ever eat, the sun had already hide, so we visited some “fountains”, they launched colored water in shapes and I passed through a tunnel of water, it was awesome. We waited at the bus to get “home”. I entered my room and fainted asleep, I was really tired.
We have our first presentation, 2 hours before the event started, we delivered our stuff and marked our dancing spots. I was terrified, I felt while dancing, but then I got up as if nothing had happened. As the days went by, I "sailed" again and went to Cusco... There I saw a typical plate, it was some kind of pig, and it tasted delicious. We stayed at a hotel just for one night. I got to be with my friends at the hotel room.
I got on a train to get to the Machu Picchu ruins. That train guided me through a lake that leaded to unhabituated villages. Then
I needed to take a bus to get to the ruins. My first thought was "imponent"; I thought I was in the better place of the world. I felt peaceful and tranquil. We needed to pass through (2 ft.) stairs and I got really tired. I founded some kind of precipice, and I got scared. I thought of a secure death… Machu Picchu was amazing, I don´t have the right words to describe it, it was like heaven. There one man explained me the history and the mysteries about that hidden city. At night we got back to the hotel and have dinner. I ate a hamburger.
Next day, we visited some markets and I bought gifts to my family and some tea. We saw an amazing dog, dressed up and someone tried to open my bag and take my stuff, but when I realized, the woman run, with anything on her hands. I was scared. We told a cop about the event and he told us he will do something. We took some photos and left to the airport. When we arrived to Lima again, we went to swim at the middle of the night.
We went to a second mall, and there we saw a restaurant above the sea, it was funny and incredible. The mall was really expensive and I spent all my money. We get to know the people and the city. There was a place where skateboarders made some tricks. I was astonished. We went to prepare our last dance presentation at the Mexican embassy, to celebrate the 15 of September.
At the presentation, everyone was happy and all the people where clapping and congratulating us. I gave the raffle prices at the event and then load all the dancing stuff to the bus.
Finally, we needed to say goodbye to the city, I was going to miss it, but I missed more my family and my home. We packed everything and went to the airport. At the plane I felt asleep and woke up in México. I was tired and bored. Getting home was the best part. I arrived to the American School, and my parents were waiting my sister and me… I was home.
