On the 27th of July we left Lima with David and Ahora in the car. On the way to pass the time we had a wotsit eating competition. Sam J won fitting 8 wotsits in her mouth. They wasn't just any old wotsits they were huge South American ones! When we arrived in Lima we got a flat tyre and only just about made our bus to Ica. From Ica we took a taxi to Huacachina where we stayed at Casa De Arena. The hostel was really nice and even had a swimming pool but as we were only here overnight we didnt get to take full advantage of it.

The next day we went sandboarding which is where you stand on a board similar to snowboarding and slide down sand dunes. We went on a sand buggy through the dunes which were amazing, we had never seen that much sand in our lives. The sand buggy got stuck at one point so we all had to get out and lift as they lodged sand underneath the wheels. It was a great day we had so much fun. We were summersaulting down the dunes and came back with sand in every nook and cranny imaginable. That afternoon we had lunch and bumped into our hippi friend Antonio, he was living in a hut shaped like a wigwam. We then caught a bus to Nazca as we wanted to see the Nazca lines. The next day we went up in a small aeroplane to see the nazca lines. It was a great experience going up in a small plane but made us very sick as we circled round the lines. Sam D got pins and needles all over her body especially in her hands, she panicked. The nazca lines were great to see they shaped liked animals. It is still a mystery why they are there. Once we got off the plane we went and laid in the park until we felt better. That night wecaught a night bus to Arequipa.
