This photo is one of the very few originals from my stolen camera. I uploaded a few pics and emailed to my family and friends to let them know how I'm doing, couple hours before my camera got stolen! DAY 2 Dozing off and on, I peaked out of my covered window to see there was rain dew all around and I can start to see light - about 14 hours have probably gone by. It was overcast and realized that we are already ascending up into what was my first glimpse of the Andes. The bus ride up through the narrow and windy road, I couldn't handle the motion sickness so as much as I want to see the mountains, I had to try to sleep.
It was just mid afternoon that I finally arrived in Cusco. I checked in to Pariwana Hostel - which is now my favorite hostel by far! It's unique, I loved the design of the place, A-MAZING comforters and quite comfy in the dorms. Nice staff, movie room and internet room and of course the bar. There was always something going on so it never gets boring. After settling in, I followed where my feet led me and the first place it led me was Q'oricancha, a classic and contemporary art museum as well as a church. After some time there, I wanted to get back to my hostel because it was

I was following a map I had but could not see or make out the street names and ended up getting stuck in crowds. I knew its prominant that pickpocketing is common, but I had forgotten they had worked in groups. I clutched my camera in my fleece jacket pocket when I was going through the crowd until water sprayed on me on my left face so I took my hands out to wipe it off and the next thing I knew, I felt someone pushing me so smoothly I didn't realize till after... the guy stole my camera! I finally found my way back to the hostel still in shock, but I had to buy a new one before my 4 day trek to Macchu Picchu! I found the one I liked but decided to buy it the next morning.
I hung out at the bar in my hostel and met 2 Americans from Colorado. They showed me the way to Plaza De Armas and were in search of food. After dinner, we went back to the hostel to find they had all turned off all lights and had candles all over the

It was to commemorate a world-wide event of "earth day" by turning off and conserving electricity. Up in the bar, all the workers and other travelers had dressed up in recyclables and partied for "earth day", someone's last day working there, and free shots all night long. Who couldn't resist joining in all the fun!? I should be acclimatizing by resting, but instead I took shots and danced on the tables to "Time of My Life" by Black Eye Peas! By 2am, the party isn't over. They closed down their bar and we all headed over to Plaza De Armas to Mythology Club and partied till 5am (at least for me). Good times dancing on the bar and bartenders giving me free drinks.
DAY 3 Got myself out of bed at around 9ish, enough to catch the free "continental" breakfast at the bar. Then headed out to buy my camera just in time for a parade in Plaza De Armas. Beautiful, authentic costumes and dance performances by different schools captured the Peruvian culture. Unfortunately, I never knew what the parade was really for. An hour passed and decided I take a walk and view more of the town.

I walked up the cobble stoned narrow streets up Triunfo to see Palacio Arzobispal and the 12 sided stone (which is just as big as me) to Plaza Las Nazarenas to Plaza Regocijo where the Town Hall is to Plaza San Francisco and finally started browsing and shopping around in various vendors and Artisans Market.
There was a caucasian guy named Justin who's about my age (and not to mention kinda cute) who stopped me and hesistated to say anything in Spanish so he then asked me if I spoke English and asked if I knew how to say "sunglasses" in Spanish. We got to talking about the usual - where we are from, how long we have been visiting Peru, our upcoming travel plans, etc. We never figured out how to say sunglasses until couple hours had passed and on the other side of the non-touristy side of town. I met his friend, Nathan at their hostel and invited them over to mine for some drinks. On the way to my hostel, we wanted to try some guinea pig - sampler style but for some reason we couldn't find anywhere! There were of course the full meal size

My new friends and I connected on Facebook so of course they helped me recollect memories. :) but didn't feel like spending 70 soles so we tried some of the street vendor foods for 3 soles each. Nathan got the beef kabob, Justin got the chicken kabob, and me being a bit of a daredevil... I got the liver kabob. All were quite good especially the chi-chi morada! YUM!!!
Back at my hostel, we had a few beers, played some card games, and chat as this time the bar was chill at about 7pm. By around 9 or 10pm, bartenders turned down the lights and turned up the music for another night of party.
It was about the time I should also go to bed as the next morning I will be on my way to an amazing 4 day trek to Macchu Picchu...!
