We just came back from our 3 day rafting trip on the Rio Apurimac. It was great. We were 26 people, all from Israel (of course) on 5 boats, plus 2 kayaks, and 2 cargo boats.

The first day was really basic, just 2 hours on the river, rapids up to class III, just for training. On the second day we had some class IV rapids, and we were on the river for about 6 hours. On the third day we had a class V rapid, and some more class IVs. It was reallly fun, and we had a great guide. His name is Javier, and he just came back from living in a Kibbutz in Israel, and spoke Hebrew. There´s nothing like hearing ¨Kadima Hazak¨ in the middle of a class IV+ rapid.

Tomorrow night we´ll probably leave for Puno, on Lake Titicaca, and then on to Bolivia. No pictures yet, because obviously I didn´t take a camera, but we´re supposed to get a DVD that the guides shot.

This is where you row upstream, then jump forward to make the boat "surf". Someone fell out of the boat here, which was scary for a while.
