We couldn't come to Peru and not do the Amazon jungle thing, so we booked a Manu National Park tour that left from Cusco. The timing worked out well for a five day trip, so we jumped on board the mini-bus early on day 1 for the long bus ride north to the headwaters of the Amazon. Before we knew how incredibly painful their bite was, Fraser told me to put my finger beside them to show scale for the picture. Thank goodness I ignored him!

Although we saw tracks and scat, we never saw one in the wild. This one was at an animal reserve being rehabilitated to go back into the wild.
