Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow!!!!!

Well, that´s one crossed off the list. Just got back to Cusco yesterday having visited Machu Picchu. I was worried that having seen so many pictures and heard so much it might disappoint. It didn´t. Spectacular.

Didn´t do "The Inca Trail" as it´s booked up til the end of August. Instead we got a bus to Pisac and looked around the market. "Look we have blankets". "No thank-you". But they´re pretty". "No thank-you". "pretty Blankets. Very Pretty". "No". "T-shirts?". "Gaaaaaah!!!".

Then we taxied it to Ollantaytambo. Lovely little village overlooked by some ruins. Train the next morning to Aguas Calientes. Hung around there for the day, then up bright and early for the first bus up to Machu Picchu, banging on the gates at 5.50am. Got in, walked up to the Sun Gate, saw the first rays of the sun hitting the ruins down in the distance, walked back, had a tour, back to Aguas Calientes, train back to Cusco. Awful train ride. Should have taken four hours, took six and a half. Tracks to greasy apparantly. Just like home!

Whilst in Cusco I also did Sacsayhuaman and all that (insert own puns and innuendos). Oh, and met up with Rachel and Piers, who I knew way back in the special place.

Off to Copacabana, Bolivia tonight.
