Hi everyone, hope you´re all keeping well etc, just as you like to know what we´re up to it´d be nice to hear what you´re all doing once in a while, i.e via comments. It makes the blogs a little more interesting. Cheers

Well, since the Santa Cruz trek we have done a grand total of nothing. Except chilling out and reading a lot. Since our little spell of funkiness in Lima I haven´t been quite right, I know that´s the nature of travelling but it´s slightly demoralising having to spend most of your time within a few feet of a bathroom, wandering round the sights is just out of the question, smelling all that wonderful food when you´ve got to starve yourself for 24 hours, trying not to feed whatever nasties are the source of torment.

Although it´s great lazing around on big sofas and drinking huge carafes of tea, consuming the vast quantites of books and climbing magazines in the library at Cafe Andino, I´d love to be out doing Pisco, which is where we were meant to go almost as soon as we got back from Santa Cruz.

I´m feeling a little better today and managed a tentative bowl of spaguetti (the simplest thing thats on the menu) last night and don´t seem to be feeling the repercussions yet, which meant i could starvingly cram down some conflakes this morning. We have booked a days ice wall climbing for tomorrow on a real live glacier, get all the kit and carted out there and spend about three hours on the ice, how cool is that?!!! It´ll be tiring but hey, went on the indoor climbing wall in one of the restauraunts last night and it wasn´t too tough. I´m stronger than I look, managed to belay Martin down right from the top of the 30ft wall!!!!!!! Must be all that trekking pole use, gives the upper arms a right good work out cause some of the weight is distributed from your legs through your arms and into the poles. I love those things now.

Got a right good Chrismas list building up if anyones stuck for ideas 😊 climbing shoes, harness, a few carabiners, cams, rope, helmet, mountaineering boots, crampons... :D maybe eventually some ice axes, ice screws and a trip up the Eiger????

Posted a couple of postcards to family yesterday, no idea if they'll ever arrive but we´ve just had an email from Martin´s mum and she´s got the parcel we sent home!!!!! all intact and everything!!!! That´s a huge relief, took however many weeks but its there, maybe the Peruvian postal service isn´t so bad after all 😊 So Aless, you will get your birthday present after all and we have a copy of the photos!!!

Well I´m off to drink a bit more tea, and maybe get some crisps, I´m starving!!!
And i´ve cheered up a bit now, but seriusly guys, maybe you´ve got no thrilling news to share, just a hello is fine.

Caio for now XX
