Our visit to the Amazon Jungle has been incredible so far and we are sad to be moving on, though the mosquito bites are helping ease our sadness. The hammock was not for sleeping - the squared off area in the back is the room for sleeping.

Spotted over the river in a group of about 50-60 monkeys.

These are the roots of this certain palm tree - cut the top of the trunk open and get hearts of palm. Also, use the root as a medicine for hepatitus.

This is a vine that has potable water inside - not only is it potable but it is used as a preventative medicine for cancer along with the bark. It is a popular export to china where it is made into pills and prescribed for cancer prevention.

The little cat is an Ocelot, and the big rodent is a capybara. Not sure about the first mystery guy, and the lazy lookin one with the ringed tail might be a tree kangaroo, but it's driving me crazy because I know I've seen one before at some strange zoo/rare animal shop in new jersey.
