Well hello again...just making our last entry before xmas time...which in Ecuador is celebrated in the evening of Christmas Eve...so tonight we will be eating langoustine with about 50 other Ecuadorians and then tomorrow will be making sacrificial mermaid totems to burn on the christmas day bonfire we are going to have on the beach, with our bloated seafood bellies

We have bought each other a kinder egg to open on Xmas day and will wait to see if Santa Claus pops down the chimney we have conveniently set alight in await of his arrival in our beach lodge..we await with baited breath.

Life has been good over here, we have discovered that all the other gringos that we have not met on our travels (we´ve hardly seen any!) have moved to Montanita to all live happily together in one big gringo family, that we weren´t invited to. Montanita is like a mini glastonbury by the ocean, with little puppies and dreadlocks and plenty of hair braids to be had...we have been invi¡ted to spend xmas with an ecuadorian woman we met - Dolores and her family in Montanita, but much as that would be lovely we have decided to have a quiet one by the beach.

We finally got to see a blue footed booby!!!! Hurray !!! And a frigate bird with its bloated red chest ...ready to impress the girls on a night out. Visited the Poor man´s galapgoes ...Isla de la Plata , so named after the promise of silver bullion Sir Francis Drake hid there to hide away from the Pirates, but now home to boobies and frigates and albatrosses...all tame as there is no predator system there. After trekking around the island with our lovely guide Winston (very popular name here...hé´s the second winston we have met the first being Winston Churchill) we went snorkelling and saw a turtle and a vast amount of really beautiful tropical fish...sea serpents, huge fish of a metre long that looked like a painting you see in St. Ives you know the deep blue layered ones with a bit of sand at the bottom, and glowig neon yellow ones with purple and aqua strips...Pete saw a piggy looking one , with snout and all.

We are staying at the moment at www.alandaluz.com/ and then on the 26th back to Quito, and then onto our last stay at the Black Sheep/www.blacksheepinn.com/ , for New Year. So I guess we´ll be seeing you guys again pretty soon, so for now we´ll say goodbye, happy xmas and loads of love to you all.
