Packing the Important Items FirstPacking the Important Items FirstPacking the Important Items First

It's a Good thing the guitar comes apart. Let's hope it goes back together again!
It is hard to believe that in about 3-weeks, we’ll be heading off to South America!!! The time is ticking by ever so quickly and we are looking at piles and piles and piles of stuff to try to get into our suitcases. Dios mio - Hay demasiado cosas y no hay bastante espacio!

Along with a guitar, a violin, backpacks filled with art supplies, books, books, and more books, we also have our own mobile drug store. Yes, most of the items have to do with getting sick to the stomach, or items that have to do with the aftermath of getting sick to the stomach - Hopefully NONE of that will happen! Oh yes, and then there’s that bothersome item of clothing! We need to pack clothing and accessories that span cool, rainy, hot and dry weather.

I want to thank so many of you who graciously donated money for the “FOUR BUCKS A BOOK” drive (and of course who have either donated money or items in the past months). Thank you to: Leslie, Liz, Robyn, the McGeehan’s, Jane, Jessica and Annie-Marie, the Baltzell’s, the King’s, and others. To date, we have collected well over $150 dollars
Libros, libros, librosLibros, libros, librosLibros, libros, libros

Thanks to everyone's generosity, we have lots and lots of books to pack!
for the book drive, and have purchased Magic Tree House books, Beverly Cleary and Ramona books, Charlotte’s Web, and many, many other wonderful children’s books in Spanish. Muchas, muchas gracias por la generosidad.

We are now at the point where we need to pack up what we have and weigh everything…and see what room we have left. If we have mas espacio, we will buy mas libros, or other educational supplies. So, if anyone would still like to contribute to our trip, or contribute to one of the organizations we will be working with, please let us know.

The links to the two organizations are: http://www.artedelmundoecuador.com/indexx.php?browser=anythingelse and

Before we head to Baños, a community of 20,000 in the central sierra region of Ecuador (4 hours south of Quito), we will spend 2-weeks in Quito studying Spanish and acclimatizing to Ecuador. We will be studying with Sra Mariana Gonzales: http://www.learnspanishinecuador.net/.

As you can tell, although the Christmas holiday is less than 1-week away, we are preoccupied with trip plans. Of course our girls are getting very excited about the holidays and are very happy to have a 2-week vacation from school. I have a feeling that
Too Much Stuff!Too Much Stuff!Too Much Stuff!

Dios Mio! Tenemos demasiado cosas!
the majority of the gifts amongst ourselves will be related to items we’ll be needing for the trip. I don’t want to give anything away though…hee-hee-hee, ho-ho-ho.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE. FIND PEACE AND JOY AND LOVE IN YOUR HEARTS.
Con abrazos,
La Familia Dunning
