1st day in Quito

We arrived last night, tired but not too emotional, some allegations from Nige of altitude sickness but more likely to be general tiredness as we both seem fine today. The weather here is very grey, quite rainy and not at all suitable for Jewish hair at all - boufftastic!!

We had a nice lunch in the Magic Bean Cafe including some delicious fried cobs of corn and are now just lolling around. We have spent quite a bit of time already in the South America Explorers club planning the next ten days or so. We are intending to go to the market at Otovalo this weekend and then do a big walk on Sunday. Plus next week we´ll go to the thermal springs at Banos and maybe the Cotopaxi volcano. We are also trying to book some spanish lessons though first attempts at this didn´t fill us with confidence - we hope to do about 4 days or so in the next two weeks.

My phone´s not working at all for some reason though i think Nige can get texts, we are working on it...
