Here are some pictures taken from within the Old City wall, which was built to protect the City of Cartagena de Indies from the priates. A couple things to note: 1) All Asains are Chinese 2) Columbians don't have much for etiquette but are very friendly and kind people... 3) Understand how far you need to go in a taxi and have the exact amount you want to pay at hand, most taxi driviers ... This museum was really cool told of the history, the pirates, the Europeans coming over and claiming Cartagena... there's so much history here.. but the building itself I thought was super amazing! And since everything was in Spanish and I could only pick up bits and pieces I just looked at everything and admired the building

The one on the right is Cathy, I worked with her. The left is her sister, Ingara. They are from Medellin. Ingara is living there studying to be a doctor. Both went to school at Oregon. One OSU (Cathy) and the other UO. Cathy is still working for GP. And both their parents are living in Eugene. Although both were living in Columbia as geologists.

I stayed here one night just cause it was cheap.. I don't even know the name of the place but I didn't like it like I did the first one, wouldn't recommend it. Although they are doing a lot of remodel, so when it's done, I'm sure it will be a really chill place to stay!

The gold weave, water and the land. Zenu people lived on a network of rivers and marshes that were interwoven with artificial channels, which drained off floodwater. They imagined their universe as a weave, a fabric on which living beings rested, like the metal 'weave' of thousands of earrings that depict men and animals. The manufacturing and decorative technique that typified Zenu goldwork was cast filigree, which imitated a metal weave.
