Woke up at 6.30 to catch an early morning flight to Bogota. We got picked up by Luz, the sister of a Colombian girl I used to work with (Claudia). She was great, she drove us around and showed us the different areas of Bogota. First stop was USAQUEN where we had lunch at an Italian restaurant. We then drove through PARQUE 93 and the ZONA ROSA area which is just full of bars, clubs, restaurants and shopping malls. (They even got a Hooters here!)
We stayed at the Fatima hostel in Calanderia, which was full of old colonial buildings, cobbled streets, museums, catherdrals, churches and historical buildings. The area is a bit dodgy at might though.
On our second day, which was also our last day in Bogota we managed to cram so much into one day thanks to Luz:

- Explored the historic buildings around Plaza de Bolivar.
- Visited Catedral Primada de Colombia.
- Iglesia de San Fernando where inside the cathedral everything was made of gold.
- Visited the village of Zipaquira, went to a salt cathedral and drank coffee 1800 meters underground.
- Went to the Andino Shopping Mall in Zona Rosa.
- Drank coffee

at Juan Valdez Cafe.
- Got a cable cart to the top of Monserrate and saw amazing views of Bogota at night. We also ate in this really posh restaurant there called San Isido restaurant. It was really nice and expensive for Colombian, but actually worked out at 13 quid per head.

All this in one day - not bad for me and Boucs!
