chile - santiago and vina del mar

last stop in south america! we spent a few days in santiago and then went to beach resort called vina del mar just up the coast. did some sunbathing and swimming in the sea - good laugh all round!

lovely vinyards in chile - concha y toro is especially nice! with a bottle of wine costing a pound over here we have inevitably drank quite a few bottles.

our hostel
this rather large building was our hostel. we had a penthouse appartment on the top floor for 11pound each a night!not bad really.

this is the view from our private balcony. rather pretty really! there were bands playing during the day and the cathedral next door chimed ave maria every day. quite surreal.

we shared the apartment with one other couple from brazil who we never saw so it realy was just ours!our own kitchen, dinning room, balcony and flat screen tv in our room. its tough being a backpacker!

had breakfast on the balcony in the morning/afternoon and sunbathed the rest of the day while drinking wine and eating cheese. its a hard life but someones got to do it!
