Osorno only made for a very quick stop - I hadn´t heard anything fantastic or even agreable about it. But when I went to get some stuff done while I was waiting for the next bus connection, I figured that it wasn´t that bad at all. Only because there is no tourist tam tam it doesn´t mean that it doesn´t have its own charme. Guess it was actually one of the most authentic chilean cities I got to see so far. There were no made up fancy and shiny tourist shops, expensive cafe's or restaurants and hawkers galore but a very normal (I suppose) buzz of people running around getting their daily business done. It's fun to see what chilean life is all about. Everything seems to be a tad slower than what we are used to (especially us Germans); people take time to enjoy the rare rays of sunlight, have a quick chat with their mate they spotted in the car going past even though it holds up all the traffic on both lanes. But no one seems to care too much. No honking or yelling, just patient faces utilising the time to relax a little themselves...
