hello!!!
hmm what have i been doing, i went to ilha grande for xmas for 4 nights, its near rio and has lots of rainforest and beautiful beaches and ocean, wouldve looked nicer if it was sunny more often, but it was a gorgeous place.
heres a run down of my xmas:
stuff myself on hostel breakfast as usual to avoid having to buy lunch, this breakfast is better than usual cos it has leftovers from xmas dinner the previous night
go to beach and sunbathe and read and swim and eat pineapple lumps and fruit
find peruvian girl i know at a beachfront restaurant and eat her leftovers, then the table next to us gives us their leftovers, eat those
eat cake from the cake stall
walk to pool and aqueduct in the forest, then to another beach
eat icecream at the self serve (i hate those places, you pay by weight and just help yourself, they have loads of flavours and then sauces, sprinkles, fresh fruit etc)
too full for dinner apart from the xmas pudding from nilani ive been carting round for over a month, it was gooood
have westie style piss up on the wharf with 4 aussies.

so you can see that it wasnt so different from normal xmas in terms of eating and drinking. i also got myself a couple of scuba dives for a present, they were fairly good but didnt see any turtles which was annoying. other stuff i did on the island was hiking through the forest to beaches, drinking, swimming, yeah.

then had my biggest travelling stint which was around 30 hrs i think, except it was a lot better than your average 24 hr bus journey. heres a run down of that one:
ferry to mainland
bus to paraty, a cute as colonial town next to the sea, had 2 hrs there with peruvian girl
bus to sao paulo, arrived at night, met this pom guy who was also hoping to avoid staying the night there, we both got tickets to curitiba on this magic school bus with no air con, drunk some beer
arrived in curitiba and farewelled the pom, a few hours later saw my french buddies on their way to bombinhas, couldnt get tickets on their bus so had to get an alternative route, had a few hours to check out curitiba.
32 hrs after beginning, arrive in bombinhas!
thats where i am now.
me and the frenchies have a cool apartment and are spending new years here. its a crowded as resort town. however there is space in the ocean if you go out far enough as most brazilians cant swim, they can only strut around in little bikinis.

feliz ano novo!
