We head down the beautiful Costa Verde to the colonial town of Paraty, and spend the afternoon exploring the cobblestone streets and cafés.
Paraty is a lovely colonial town about 125 miles from Rio de Janeiro on Brazil's southeastern coast. It lies on the border between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo states. Paraty is considered one of the world's most important examples of Portuguese colonial architecture.
Our second day is free to enjoy island-hopping from beach to beach in the Ilha Grande, snorkeling and sampling the local cachaça on our very own Caipirinha boat.
