Back in the city...

Thursday 24th
After another 530am start join Gaynor on the bus into town. She's going to show me how to make my own way back if I like. Takes the usual 1.5 hours this morning. I get time on the internet again then head over to the hotel to meet Linda. Lila is there but Linda isn't... My fault! Get into an internet café and we arrange that I'll wait there. Meantime is a message from Gaynor that the ferry has had an accident which means that traffic won't be great tonight! Once we meet, go for breakfast at a juice store before I go bikini shopping with Linda. We find her 2 sets, one in the sales (Bargain Bex lives up to her name again)... And those Brazilian women are pretty shameless... Come out of the changing room with no clothes to try the next bikini! Next, we go to the hotel to meet others who are off to Rio do Sul shopping center. By this point have a stinking headache and not too sure about leaving buses til end of day so head back to Gaynor's office. We then go for a per kilo lunch before catching the bus back. Is pretty busy. Gaynor then has an appointment so I sit next to the ferry terminal and read before we catch a bus back to the car and back to the house for dinner/sleep.

Friday 25th
Another early start, another bus ride in on the busy roads. The surfers are again out in the bay, and the waves are still breaking on the beach... Where there should be NO waves! At 630am it's already 23 degrees, so it's going to be another hot day. In the city, back on the internet trying to sort out my hotel in Sao Paulo. When Gaynor's assistant arrives about 11am I get ready to head out. Decide to walk down to the Botanic Gardens... Takes 2.5 hours before I arrive as I go via a few shops and Park Lague. Nice, peaceful gardens and only R$4 to get in. Sit and read for a while then decide I should really take a look round, before I sit and read a bit more. Not sure how long it's going to take to get back so hop on a bus to Botafogo and hop off just as it becomes unfamiliar. Get back in time for 6pm, as Gaynor's in no hurry to join the busy traffic. As it's going to be so late before we get back, go to Route 66, a Mexican restaurant Gaynor enjoys. Nice meal and a final Capirinha! Back to the house in time to crash out... Ah well, Saturday tomorrow.
