Well we have made it to Brazil. We left Bristol in temperatures of -2C and flew into Sao Paulo to temperatures of 30+C. Brazil is great, Sao Paulo was a bit of a blur as we were only there for 24hours but then we moved on to Rio de Janeiro for La Reveillon (New Years Eve) Approx. 2 million people flocked to the Copacabana beach for the most amazing fireworks display and wave jumping!! The majority of people were wearing white as a sign of respect to the goddess of the Sea.

Rio itself deserves all the praise it gets - it is an amazing city with very distinct neighbourhoods. Based in Botafogo we were well within reach of all the main areas. The bus system meant that we could get around easily. Got burnt on Day One at Copacabana - good start - climbed up to see Jesus in the heat, if you're into graffiti -cash in... Good botanical gardens - highly promoted by the locals

Now in Foz do Iguacu - 24 hours on a bus... We saw the falls from the Brazilian side today and are excited about the Argie side tomorrow which is said to be a hundred times better....

Dave has put himself outside of his own body weight of meat..

No photos as yet - next time
