The aisle
The aisle was decorated with fresh Lily Flavia´s sister wedding day,
Carol’s wedding was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. The family, the atmosphere, the decorations, the dress, the cake, and the alcohol everything was perfect that even someone against marriage like my best friend Winnie would change her mind after attended this wedding. The wedding took place at the Brasilia Cathedral. The Cathedral was quite peculiar in my opinion; it looks more modern than any other cathedral I have seen. The roof and walls are covered in mosaic, very colourful mosaic. The wedding aisle was decorated with fresh white Lily (my favourite flowers), everyone in the cathedral looked so happy and couldn´t stop smiling to each other. What a beautiful wedding. The church service lasted two hours then it was party time yaaaaaaaaay.
The reception venue was something that you only see in a fairytale movie. The entire place decorated with FRESH flowers, every single stem. Flowers on the tables, the centerpiece flowers, flowers hanging off the walls, flowers in the middle of the room, flowers stand in the middle of nowhere, flowers in the toilets, flowers on the dancefloor, flowers by the doors, flowers flowers flowers flowers everywhere. Did I mention that
The gift
This napkin was given to everyone who attended the church service, just in case you cry during the Í do´speeches :-) there were FRESH? Oh wait did mention that those flowers accompanied by CANDLES, OMG candles in all shapes that you could possibly have imagined. AND MY STUPID CAMERA DECIDED TO DIE RIGHT AFTER THE CHURCH SERVICE so no photos at the party goddamnit. Ok drinking time, the waiters were so attentive that your glass would never run low somehow there magically refilled themselves. I LOVE IT. There was a table with two beautiful girls; their ONLY job was to make caipirinha. Mina + caipirinha +all night = recipe for disaster. But I thought ´hey I´m in Brazil, nobody knows me´. Ummmmmm huummmm. Ok let talk about dresses and tuxedo, OMG I have the thing for guy in tuxedo. Anyway…all the women young and old dressed in their BEST dress. The wedding was like a New York fashion parades, if you are from Darwin and happened to read this blog try to imagine a combine functions of Darwin Cup, Engineering Excellence Awards, Qatas Gala dinner and every other event in Darwin in one place. I love Brazil already. Apparently, this is normal for Brazilian. They love big wedding, maybe I should find a Brazilian guy and tricked him into marrying me
The desert
There were different types of chocolate desert in this flower with the bride and groom initials. lol
So by this stage I have met a dozen of Flavia´s cousins, and they kept bringing me caipirinha. Ýou are in Brazil, you have to drink this´ they kept saying… So one too many caipirinha later, I wouldn´t leave the dancefloor. I wasn´t dancing, I was just jumping up and down like a crazy person. The night ended with many happy memories.
The next day I met some more relatives for lunch and the groom´s mum. The first thing she said to me was ´Mina, I remember you. You were the girl that danced nonstop last night´. I wanted to dig a hole and buried myself in there forever. I really don´t want to be remembered that way…oh well I may have to divorce my newlywed caipirinha…´till next time xoxo
