So when we left our gypsy nomad, she was in search of R and R in the form of gorgeous white sand beaches and cocunut drinks, up the coast of Brazil. Truth is, the majority of the time has been spent in transition. Grrr. my unfavoritist part of traveling. Monster, is that a word? It is now. From Salvador I ventured to Olinda, a recommended stop. There were a few cute happy colored buildings, bu... Read Full Entry

Love the domestic animals
Tan, I liked the picture of the puppy -- soo cute!! Sounds like you have done a lot of unpleasant travel across long distances! Was Brazil worth the trip -- especially considering the language barrier? Did you learn some Portugese? You do look like you lost weight -- has the food improved. My yoga teacher said a vegetarian would have a difficult time in SA! Take care. Love, Mom

great stuff!
very good to hear from you. So, are you saying that your least favoritist part of traveling is traveling? Thought so!!! You have a way of finding the special and wonderful places right when you need them most. And you are on a good run with finding kitties, it seems. Purrrr... It seems that you aren't even afraid of the caimens. Is that true? And, maybe in addition to the travel book you can also turn this experience into a new diet fad. You get to eat anything you want now, don't you? Now I'm even more jealous than before!!!! Thanks for sharing with us. love, holly

Multi´color photo blog...
Tana, WELL, Peanut was decidedly not happy w/ the comment about the FOREIGN cat being the best in the world. He says he´s protesting you by not sending you any meeps or purrs..... !! The mult´-colored buildings are so vibrant, I´ll bet you just love seeing that stuff. Enjoy Cartagena, but don´t get in trouble w/ the Policia ie: the coca! hahahaha!!!! Hope it´s warm enough for you there. My Fatso Bitch says hi. Kwirk

Keep on truckin!
Hey Tana, I love the career epiphanies. I had the exact same ones when I was travelling. Photographer, travel writer or even a wandering traveller were so exciting at the time. Unfortunately I haven't actually done anything about them yet, but your blogs are so inspiring I might have to get back to it. I'm still working on putting my US road trip blogs into a book......stay tuned! ps. loved the Capoeira photos!
