A very beautiful country but it is hard to travel. The road to and from Tupiza is unpaved, dangeorus and pumping all the way. We souldn’t take that risk to travel from Tupiza tu Uyuni at night. The bus went through slided roads and passed rivers without bridge. Very late at night we arrived at Uyuni. We could hardly find two beds to sleep after knocking many hostels.

With three hour sleep we arranged a tour to Salar de Uyuni, six on a 4 wheel drive Toyota. Six of us became close friends with each other in hours. We had an exellent tour for three days. Above 4200 mt we drove on desert without any road for hours. We enjoyed the salt flat you will feel on the pictures, visited salt hotel, train cemetery, many small lakes and lagunas, volcanos. We stayed at very basic hotels, no shower, no electricity and freezing cold. Near Chile border except Cengiz all the group jumped into hot spring pool early in the morning before sun rise.

On retun to Uyuni we took the night train to Oruro and three hours bus To Lapaz together with one of our group mates, Michelle.

La Paz is a bowl like city at a very high altitude ( 3800 mt) . You have to ride steep roads to go from one place to another. We took a half day sightseeing city tour. Did many shoppings and had nice dinners.

Bolivia is really cheap. The places we visited are all at high altitudes, therefore we both had problem with this condition. We both used altitude pills. But had limited affect. Cengiz’s blood pressure seemed to rise, the reason we didn’t understand.

We stayed Sagarnaga Hotel on Sagarnaga street in Lapaz. Really recommendable place to stay.

The fourth day we travelled to Copacabana on the Titicaca Lake. Visiting Isla del Sol in half a day and spending a night at this very nice town we headed to Puno of Peru on the same lake.

Love to all..
