We spent 10 days in Santa Cruz with Marioly and her family (she was an exchange student in Wichita and went to our church. We had a great time hanging out with Loly, going to Carnaval, and visiting a butterfly farm. The funny outfits we are wearing in the Carnaval pictures are typical of the Santa Cruz carnaval.

Kim and Cari

Hey all! We are leaving Kansas on February 3rd and flying to Buenos Aires. We are going to stay with a family friend of Cari's, Eunice and we don't know how long we will stay. As soon as we have had our share of tango, asadas, and smog, we will head to Montevideo, Uruguay. Montevideo is a cute town but not too interesting. There we will visit Miriam (Cari's cousin) and drink mate. Our goal is then to head up the coast and put some color on our pasty, North American bodies. Carnaval

Carnaval here is REALLY dirty! They throw paint, cream, water, pretty much anything all over the streets.
