For those who read this blog and want to know more about the hostels I stayed in during my trip, below is my feedback, very subjective obviously. Take it or leave it!

• Mendoza: Hotel Independencia / **** / 85 / dorm 7 / br Y / ba N / 2 / Ps: great breakfast, free wine happy hour, good place to socialise, nice patio
• Buenos Aires: Portal Del Sur/ ** / 90 / dorm 6 / br Y / ba N / 1 / Ps: central / Cs: really hot
• Ushuaia: Freestyle / *** / 120 / dorm 6 / br Y / ba Y / 3 / Ps: clean, good kitchen / Cs: not their fault but spotty wifi!
• El Calafate: Hostel del Glaciar Libertador / ** / 105 / dorm 4 and 6 / br Y / ba Y / 2+1 / Ps: super patient! / Cs: breakfast not great, kitchen upstairs
• El Chalten: Condor de Los Andes / ** / 105 / dorm 4 / br N / ba Y / 3 / Ps: kitchen / Cs: no breakfast!
• Bariloche: 41 Below / *** / 90 / dorm 6 / br Y / ba N / 6 / Ps: breakfast (home made bread/jams/yogurt!), nice place room to socialise / Cs: x
• El Bolson: Pehuenia / ** / 80 / dorm 4 / br Y / ba N / 2 / Ps: double bed! / Cs: kitchen
• Lago Epuyen: El Refugio del Lago / ** / 100 / cabana / br N / ba Y / 1 / Ps: in the middle of the countryside, kitchen outside the cabana / Cs: a little bit lost!
• Esquel: La Casa del pueblo / ** / 95 / dorm 6 / br Y / ba Y / 3 / Ps: home made bread / Cs: thin walls, noisy
• Futaleufu (Chile): I didn't stay in the end but i had to pay a bit as I said yes initially I don't recommend because people were unfriendly and unhelpful with no sense of service/ 7000 CH$ in 4 bed dorm. it's where the minibus from the border stops (of course, the owner is the same!). It's located n one of the main street leading to the square and I think the name is Los abuelos but it is not obvious. They also organise excursions and sell food to go. By the way, the room looked ok.
