Buenos Aires, Colonia del Sacramento, Iguazu Falls

First leg of the trip done!

First stop Buenos Aires. To start with, we were not overly impressed with this city until we started discovering more and more about it. It just happened to be that our hostel was in a crappy area. But we soon discovered Palermo - a chic and trendy neighbourhood full of stylish cafes and restaurants and many many boutiques. We also enjoyed La Boca - a very colourful and playful (and extremely touristy) area located in the heart of an otherwise poor and quite dangerous neighbourhood.

We did a side trip and spent a couple of nights in nearby Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. This town is a small, slow paced, colonial town with not much to do except relax. After a few hours of walking around we ran out of things to do so we rented a little golf cart. Seriously they have zero rules there. We drove it on all the streets and even on the highway. The cars just went around us.

We then took an overnight bus to get to Northern Argentina and see the Iguazu Falls. We spent a day looking at the Argentinian side of the waterfalls and then another day looking at the Brazilian side. The size of the waterfalls is huuuge. It's a beautiful panoramic sight to see. There were long walking trails to see it from different angles - far, close, under and from above. And to make it better there were so many of these cute little animals that just walk freely around all the people! Cute little bundles of rabies.
