Feb 20 –Tierra del Fuego, douanes et détroit de Magellan / Tierra Del Fuego, customs and Strait of Magellan

Une journée de bus passionnante qui débute à 5h et qui va se terminer à 1h du mat, oui madame, c’est ça les voyages. Je vais encore râler côté nourriture (quand on s’ennuie, c’est important !) mais la compagnie de bus qui a quand même le monopole du trajet a seulement daigné nous donner un mini plateau (infect) à 16h !! Je vais finir par être une boule moi à force de manger des chips et des biscuits en attendant !

Bref, un long voyage mais qui a traversé des étendues sauvages magnifiques avec plein de moutons dans les champs et des vigognes sur le bord de la route. Mieux vaut pas avoir une panne d’essence ici, car il n’y a RIEN !

Pour pimenter un peu le trajet, des multiples passages en douanes dont les tampons remplissent mon passeport pour aller de l’Argentine au Chili puis l’inverse grâce au découpage particulier de la Terre de Feu. Et pour éviter l’ennui et sortir du bus, passage du Détroit de Magellan (quand même, le détroit de Magellan, encore un nom mythique !) en ferry, chouette !

Voilà, c’est tout, j’ai fait au max pour rendre cela intéressant. Ah oui, j’ai oublié de vous dire où on allait ! Tout cela pour rejoindre El Calafate et son fameux glacier Perito Moreno, ça mérite d’être patient

An exciting day spent in the bus that started at 5 am and will finish at 1 am… I will moan again against the bus company but they didn’t dare give us food (if you want to call that food) until 4 pm… I’m going to be fat at the end of this trip, snacking and eating crisps…

Anyway, a long but beautiful trip across Tierra del Fuego, in the middle of hundred of sheep and surprised vicunas along the road. Better to avoid running out of gas, because there is nothing around.

To spice it up, we stopped several times at the customs (border stamps are starting to cover my passport, Argentina-Chile / Chile-Argentina in this case). To avoid getting bored, we cross the Strait of Magellan on the ferry. That’s it really, I tried my best to make this day a little bit less uninteresting. I forgot to tell you where I’m going by the way! All this to reach El Calafate and its so famous Perito Moreno glaciar.
