in Plaza 9 de Julio
Cook up some fried eggs and sausages for breakfast. Have a good shower, and manage to get some laundry done. Once that is done we start exploring the city of Salta. The central plaza (Plaza 9 de Julio) and other attractions seem to be alondside, so we head in that direction. The plaza is surrounded with more orange trees than we have seen in one spot. The buildings are beautifully designed. The 9th of July Square in the place where Hernando de Lerma founded the city of Salta in 1582. On the one side is the Basilica Cathedral. Spent most the afternoon walking around the town - the morning was spent trying to locate a bank and change some travellers cheques as me were running low on funds =)) Shopping has been so much fun. In the evening we enjoy another lovely meal and pack our bags - tomorrow we fly to Buenos Aires.
