g in the sun!
G stood in front of the entrance to Recoleta cemetry Ok, so here we are in BA (our rucksacks made it too!) We have discovered that the bar at the end of our road not only has free Wi Fi but a happy "Hour" that lasts from 5-9pm! So we have a 1.5litre jug of beer and homemade chips for £3! I have my laptop and Gordon has his Kindle (he is already on the second of his 165 books!!!)
So far, so good........
Our host, Elsa, is lovely and does not seem phased by G's strange eating habits and so far has provided good food. We have separate single rooms (most flats in BA have single beds.....) but we will survive (may be good to have some time apart.......!)
We wandered round Recoleta yesterday, the neighbourhood we are in - the cemetry was weird! (see photos).
We are both in the same class at Spanish (beginners!) and that went well today - very little English spoken in class with 8 students from Australia, UK, Switzerland and Canada. Surely we will pick something up in four weeks...... (other than I live in Poole and 2 beers which is all we arrived with !!!)
We had to
Floris Generica
Lovely flower sculpture which is supposed to open at daylight and close at sunset but doesn't work at the moment!!! get up at 6am and had to walk 45 mins to school, so don't think we're having it easy.........
Hasta manana! xxx
