Greetings.

Here is a short list of things which happened on our way from Denver to Buenos Aires:
1. We were involved in one very minor car accident at six a.m., one near miss, and one ¨clear miss¨of the airport´s off ramp. Jess and I both made our flights.

2. When we met up in Buenos Aires (at the airport), we took the bus into town. From the bus station, we took the ¨metro¨to the area of town where we are currently residing: Palermo.
On the way, a young man named Matias practically walked us to the doorstep of the hostel from the metro train. He was ever so kind, working hard on English, and couldn´t stop talking about how he hated the heat and couldn´t wait to move to England.

3. After departing the train, we were on the busy streets of Buenos Aires. Back on the surface, with people flowing like a river. We pushed up stream and found two lifeguards who kept us afloat. They also (literally) walked us to the door of the hostel. And then some. We went a few extra blocks extra, but they were incredibly kind and enthusiastic about helping us.

4. We have stayed up late. 2 a.m. to be exact. That´s the lifestyle here though. You eat dinner at ten and party until the wee hours of the morning. We ate dinner at a great Indian place, but skipped out on the whole ¨tipping¨thing because we didn´t know if it was customary or not. So we are criminals.

5. Today was spent buying bus tickets to Puerto Natales, an area way way way south in Argentina. It is the gateway town to the Torres del Paine region, where Jess and I will be going on an 8 day backpacking adventure. Our spanish isn´t fantastic, so clarifying the logistics of a simple bus ride took about 3 hours. There were over 200 bus lines to choose from. We bought some mate and lunch, and went back to the Hostel. The city is great, but we´re ready to get out of here and into ¨the wild¨.¨

We love you all and think of how lucky we are that you are in our lives!

Buenas dias,
Matt and Jess!!!
