We returned to Buenos Aires (from Uruguay) for a couple more nights in the city. We booked a hotel on Expedia for $75 dollars, and were immediately out-classed when we walked into the lobby. This was a 4 star joint…oops. We were dirty, sweaty, pink, gringos in a land of fine leather shoes and crystal. No one really cared, but we stuck out like two sore thumbs. When we got to our room we passed-out on the big bed and caught up on some much needed sleep…it was perfecto.

We walked from there to San Telmo and back, zigzagging through all the streets as we went and taking many detours. We sat in San Telmo’s Plaza Dorrego for hours eating pizza and watching the Tango dancers. The streets in San Telmo are cobble stone and this area is known for its antique sales and its history. there is a certain amount of San Telmo pride.
There was a demonstration that marched by while we sat. It was complete with a police escort, loudspeakers, flags, and drums. There were two things that struck us both; the extent of amazing architecture, and the incredible number of people. When we returned to the hotel I counted the blocks we had walked on a map and it was more that 100. The day flew by and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Tommoro we will leave for Bariloche, Argentina on a bus.
