Wind Cave NP, S.Dakota

We were pleasantly surprised to see large prairie dog towns all over Wind Cave Nat'l Park, S. Dakota. Prairie dogs are 'keystone' animals because so many animals and insects depend on them and their burrows. In addition, the black-foot ferret is dependent on the prairie dog as it is their preferred food.
