A lovely day for a ride! 66 miles, 4000 feet of climbing

Today was a lovely day for a ride. It was still hot out there, but the humidity was lower and thus the ride was much more enjoyable. Once again we were on fairly quiet roads with constant ups and downs. However, the hills were not nearly as steep as in the heart of the Ozarks. I am a retired Airline Pilot and have crossed the United States at 33,000 feet for over 30 years. Now that I am retired, I felt it was time to cross it by bicycle. In September of 2015 I rode from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico with four friends, so this will be my second bicycle adventure. Although I spent 20 years in the Navy, eight active and twelve as a reserve, my experience was far different than those who have served in the last twenty five years.
