Two years ago I saw a picture on the internet of a 150 year old giant purple wisteria flower at Ashikaga Flowering Garden. I felt in love with it and know I had to go there to see it with my own eyes. Wisteria blooms late April and early May so I scheduled Ashikaga as one of our last stop in Japan.
