In 1945, The Hungarian Red Arrow Militiaman made 3500 people, 800 of them Jews, take off their shoes and shot the into the water so the river would take them away. The brass shoes are a reminder of that time of terror by the Red Arrows

It was a busy day on public transport today; trams and buses zigzagging across Budapest for Natalia’s last day here.
