Typical mid-life crisis: the sheer agony of commuting and the bone-chilling mononity of an office job led me to resign on the spur of the moment. I then couldn't bear the thought of ever having to sit through interviews or be used and abused by yet another blood-sucking temp agency, so I decided to run away and join the French Foreign Legion.
