Joshua Tree This is the best review of Joshua Tree National Park I have ever seen. It makes me want to see it, especially in the Spring. Your blog is very, very good. Thank you.
Tilting at windmills Aha! Given that we agree on the ugliness and uselessness of windmills (except for grinding flour), I wonder if you might now regret voting for that little green pixie?
Running for a train? Strolling maybe, but I never saw you run for a train! Had a laugh over your email - I read it standing on Chatham station in the snow - actually I had to laugh otherwise I would have cried.
Carry on having fun - I get 'virtual travel' from your blogs - and inspiration - I saw a recipe just the other day for beetroot and chocolate cake - perhaps I'll go for it now

Am very Jealous Hi Viv, Your blog is amazing as always and has had me in stitches again this morning, You sound as if you are having a fantastic time. !!! Can't wait for the next installment.

Viv, Photos look fabulous. Can't remember how much you overlapped with John Stace but, if you did, you should look him up now you are staying in NZ longer (maybe you already are, I'm probably behind the curve). I can give you his contact details if you email me. Weather here until about the last ten days has been the mildest winter ever but today we woke to 2 inches of now in SW8. Children woke up at 5am and decided it was only right and proper to run into our bedroom shouting "there's snow" at the tops of their voices. I'm sure you're sorry you missed it. One good thing about NZ is that, at least occasionally, we can beat them at cricket. Best wishes, Charles Pender
Turkey is over rated Happy New Year Viv, just drank a beer for you, while reading your blog. Loved the photos, but could have done with some more 'beach' shots. FYI the City is wet and dark, and the trains were delayed yesterday. I bet you're missing all this crap. Keep well and safe travels. Steve x
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year A Late Merry Christmas Viv and an early Happy New Year to you. Glad you're having such a fab time with all those "hot" men, but girl you need to stop being so fussy if you're gonna find one that you want to keep! Love from Mandie, Alan, Alex and Arun

Under water in Fiji. This is a wonderfull Blogg. seagulls fly, fish swim under water, here in Cornwall. We have just had the remenants of a tropical storm, very high
winds and some good down pours. As I look over our lovely cliffs I shall think of you, Love Dad XXX
Viv,
Fiji sounds fantastic! Your way of writing makes may feel I am there (wish Iwas instead of here at work). Not many people would admit to a snotty snorkel!
Keep in touch
Jess
Too busy to write? Woman - You may be small but surely not so small that you can't reach the keyboard.
You appear not to have written anything since the FINAL COUNTDOWN message. How are those of us still at work supposed to be jealous of a loafer who can't be arsed to gloat?
Shame about the bears ! Hi Viv, really enjoying reading your blog, very entertaining and the trip sounds fantastic. Great photos too. Sorry that you didn't see any bears in Yellowstone - they were probably keeping well away from the likes of Pushy Mom ! Looking forward to the next instalment already. Take care, Fi.
Made me Laugh!!! Hi Viv, sounds like you're having a lovely time - definately jealous about the cheesecake place!!!!! And would have loved to have been there for the conversation with the Jehovah's woman! Take care and stay safe. Mand, Als, Alex and Arun
Take Care Hi Viv, sounds like you are having a wonderful time. . Your intelligence and humour has made your blog a must read for many, better than any postcard. Take care. Karenxx
Eleven long haired Jesus lovers Am so sad, checked it out on the internet and all I could find was "Eleven long-haired friends of Jesus in a chartreuse micro-bus"!
Looking forward to hearing how Yellowstone and Yogi bear are.

Typical mid-life crisis: the sheer agony of commuting and the bone-chilling mononity of an office job led me to resign on the spur of the moment. I then couldn't bear the thought of ever having to sit through interviews or be used and abused by yet another blood-sucking temp agency, so I decided to run away and join the French Foreign Legion. Then I remembered that I am lazy, cowardly and far too fond of pizza and chocolate, so I decided instead that I would take myself off to Australasia and South East Asia.... full info
