a quick note on Dominica--no, it's not the same as the Domincan Republic ! Very rugged island, no sandy beaches but plenty of spectacular rain forest for hiking. We were on our own with no guide, which proved to be a bit tricky as there are so few tourists they really don't have things marked-- Locals were not very outgoing, but I think it was OK.
