Bob the blow pipe champion

Jaire taught us how to use a blow pipe a good 8' long with darts dipped in curare, a poison made from a jungle plant. First you have to sharpen it with piranha teeth, then grab a wad of cotton stored in the shell of the kapok fruit --wrap it around the other end of the dart into a small ball. This will center the dart inside the pipe so it travels true. Next came the contest. Jaire's flew high so he tried again. High again. This is from about 20 yards. Then he gave it to Bob, who of course nailed it. First try. Only try. He wouldn't even give it a second shot. How can you beat perfection, he asks??? Mine stuck in the mud 5' in front of the target and got a good laugh from all the Kichwa watching. My second one didn't even make it out of the pipe. I'd starve.
