It costs 28 pounds to go up the Shard to see the view. It's supposed to be a fantastic view ... if it's not cloudy. Bit pricey, if you ask me.

Twice in the 90s I stayed in a hotel just down the block from where I am now, and one other time John and I stayed in a hotel another couple of blocks away on the same road.
