China is full of progress. Mostly this means new concrete buildings, concrete roads and large cars. We are fortunate to find ourselves in Yangshou County, Guangxi province in the small village of Chaolong where we are volunteering at Zhou Yue English college where although concrete hotels abound there are some tastefully renovated mud brick houses which hold in the heat and keep cool in Summer. A long time traveller with a father with itchy feet who encouraged me to see all. So glad the pandemic is over! Another long sojourn in Europe this year 2023 with an exciting three weeks in Sri Lanka as the culmination of the trip. Graeme and I travel well together and enjoy exploring some of the unusual and some of the well-trodden sights the world has to offer.
