Really off the path May 13th 2005 We got back into Thurso on a warm, bright, sunny Friday to stop at the bank, store and the TIC. Of course we got the best weather on our last few days! We took the A9 and A99 to Ulbster and found the Whatamore Steps that I had read about in my Lonely Planet Guide. There were 318 steps that led down to an alcove which was scenic and peaceful. Traveling is my favorite thing to do and have incorporated it into my job as a traveling nurse. My first overseas trip was to Scotland in 1999 which I adored! I have also been to Ireland twice, northern part of England, Scotland again, the Galapagos Islands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and Czech Republic. I want to visit as many US states and countries as I can.
