The Jacquemart atop Notre Dame

This was installed by Philippe of Burgundy in 1383. There is a gorgeous story about this Jacquemart...In the 17th century, people joked about his bachelor status, so in 1651 a companion was added, Jacqueline. A little Jacquelinet was added in 1714, followed by his sister, Jacquelinette, in 1884.

The morning service on Sunday at Notre Dame was warm and welcoming. Although completely in French, some could be understood well enough.
