The Khmer Rouge--still!
Saul's sad story is so familiar. I have a Cambodian colleague whose father was a professor and killed. She was about four, and her mother took her and her siblings on that same harrowing route through the jungle to a refugee camp where they lived for several years. It's so amazing that she, like Saul and other Cambodians who have been through so much are so kind and forgiving. The village family stay and snorkeling day sound divine.

Oh my gosh I was in tears as Saul relived his harrowing story. His, with so many more Cambodians who suffered so much from that regime. And to think they are secretly still in control. Such amazingly kind people, I want to feel hopeful for them, but I seriously don't know what their future holds.
